About Plan B

Plan B is a restaurant located in South Jakarta, in an easily accessible area with ample parking space and outdoor space.

Our restaurant offers Spanish cuisine. In its menu, almost all Spanish regions are represented, with some of their best-known dishes and, as homage to our Chef’s roots, Plan B is specialized in dishes from the Basque Country.

We have a wide range of dishes, tapas from different regions, dishes specially created by our Chef Oskar Urzelai and also some high caliber dishes like acorn-fed black feet ham (Jamon Pata Negra Iberico de Bellota) and duck liver foie from Navarra region.

All desserts are homemade, inspired in our mothers’ recipes.

In our Wine and Cavas Menu we honor our homeland and offer exclusively Spanish Wines and Cavas, having red and white wines from Rioja and Ribera de Duero, and Catalonia Cavas.

We have three concepts in which our restaurant is based: quality of our dishes at reasonable prices, personalized service and a new eating experience.

We strive to make our patrons feel at home and being satisfied only when they return.

Our Chef

Basque Chef Oskar Urzelai has traveled the world. At 40 years has become a kind of an ambassador to the Spanish cuisine, a tireless traveler who has now opened his own restaurant in Jakarta with his 2 Spanish partners and friends.

Before coming to Indonesia Oskar worked in San Sebastian with his teacher and friend Martin Berasategi. Then he moved to Madrid and was part of Zalacain cooks template and from Madrid Oskar went to Orizar Egana, in Seville. Then he wanted to widen his borders and decided to join Melia Group in Cuba and Dominican Republic. Finally, in year 2000 he travelled to Singapore and has been in Asia (Melia, Intercontinental, Marriot) ever since.

Curiosity was the main reason for him to come to Indonesia in the first place a few years ago and settle in this land, "I think it has a lot of challenge, I have always found the scents and flavors fascinating. That, together with the different way of looking at life and the charms of its people has made him feel in Jakarta as in a new home, settled now at Plan B.

At Plan B Oskar wants to develop Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine, "because I think it will be accepted in a hot country and there is not such think as an authentic, homemade though Spanish restaurant in Jakarta yet. This inspiration might sound difficult but I am surprised by the good response of our clients in Jakarta to the different culinary proposals we are doing, very encouraging indeed.
